Intraoral Camera

Have you ever gone to the dentist and had him or her describe what is happening in your mouth, only to not be able to picture what he or she may be telling you?

Well, at our office, you do not need to try and picture what is being said, because we have an intraoral camera that we use during each comprehensive exam.

It is a camera (small enough to fit into your mouth) that takes digital photographs of your teeth that allow you to see exactly what is happening in your mouth. This great piece of advanced equipment allows the dental team the ability to educate patients regarding their oral hygiene. The high resolution images allow the dentist and dental hygienist to see and diagnose fractures that to the naked eye might be overlooked and that could eventually increase the susceptibility of getting a cavity or fracturing the tooth in half.

It saves a lot of time for the dentist by not having to take multiple x-rays of a particular tooth or area, thus exposing the patient to needless radiation. The images appear on the monitor immediately, and the patient has the ability to look at the images with the dentist as he describes and diagnoses what he sees.
